HPGe detektorer
ORTEC offers a wide range of HPGe radiation detector solutions which cover low energies for X-rays up to gamma rays in the 10 MeV and above range. These detectors are manufactured using high purity germanium (HPGe) of both P- and N-type. All detectors in these two classes are cryogenically cooled, using either liquid nitrogen or electro-mechanical coolers.

Cryostats, Dewars, Cryostat/Dewar Assemblies, and Electrical Cooling
All HPGe radiation detectors require cooling to cryogenic temperatures for successful operation. This is typically accomplished using a liquid cryogen, most commonly liquid nitrogen (LN2), or with an electro-mechanical cooler.
ORTEC offers a full suite of cryogenic cooling solutions to meet the diversity of customer application requirements. These solutions range from static and recirculating LN2 operations, to various electro-mechanical cryocoolers.

Multichannel Analyzers (MCAs) are workhorse instruments in many scientific measurements. An MCA analyzes a stream of voltage pulses and sorts them into a histogram, or “spectrum” of number of events, versus pulse-height, which may often relate to energy or time of arrival. The stored spectrum may then be displayed and analyzed.
